Award Overview
This year the Southland Technology Conference is introducing a SoTeC Inspiration Award to recognize inspirational community service by a Southland technology professional. This award will be given as part of the 2009 Conference.
The theme for this year’s conference is New Paradigms for Challenging Times – Maximizing Personal and Organizational Value. And while the idea of Community Service or “giving back” is not new, it represents an important paradigm in today’s economic and social climate. We all know people who give of themselves to make our organizations and communities better, and the award is one way to recognize them and thank them. These are people who are maximizing their own value by adding value to those around them.
With this award, we seek to:
- Recognize inspirational community service among technology professionals
- Promote the paradigm of community service among technology professionals
- Inspire others to action
The Award Process
At the 2009 Conference, there will be an award presented:
- The SoTeC Inspiration Award will be presented to someone who was nominated by a conference participant and was selected by a committee representing all the participating organizations.
Nominations for the SoTeC Inspiration Award will be accepted from June 13 - October 2.
